How To Get That Salon PERFECT Blow Dry Smooth Finish At Home In 8 Steps

How To Get That Salon PERFECT Blow Dry Smooth Finish At Home In 8 Steps

Walk out of the house every day like you just walked right out of the salon with this tutorial on getting the perfect blow dry at home.

Step 1

It is best to towel dry your hair before starting. Before we do anything, we need to apply a little Moroccan Oil. This helps with the smoothing process and is great for your hair.

Step 2

Dry your hair out from the roots with your brush and dryer. Get a little tension from the root to really help dry it out. This helps with the smoothing process.

CRUCIAL TIP: The brush you use matters a lot. Make sure you have a ceramic vented brush, and one big enough for the length of hair you have. The longer your hair, the bigger your brush you will need.

Step 3

Time to section the hair. The first section to take is ear to ear as seen below. Split the hair in half at the back of the head and work the brush and dryer through it.

HUGE TIP: Brush your sections through before using your dryer. This helps with the smoothing process.

Step 4

For the next section, grab your hair as if you are going to be making a pony tail and tie it up on top of your head. Split the hair in half at the back of your head again and work the brush and dryer through like before.

ANOTHER BIG TIP: Let your hair cool out after each brush, and don't worry if it doesn't smooth out right first time. Some sections may take more than one run over.

Step 5

The next section takes you a little bit higher, around 2 inches higher than your last section. Again, work the brush and dryer through it in the same outward motion.

Step 6

It is now time to section out the top. Firstly, section the back at the crown line as seen below. Work this area first and move the brush and dryer up to create the volume.

Step 7

For the front and top section, it all depends on how much hair you have, as to how you section this out. In most cases you may have too much hair to do it all at once, so section it out at each side, saving the front of the hair until last.

Work the brush and dryer through both sides again. Smoothing as much as is needed.

Step 8

For the last section, use the brush and dryer to smooth backwards and up to let it drop naturally into place around your natural hair parting.

The Perfect Finish

It is best to be very cautious on using too much product to finish off a smoothing blow dry to avoid greasy hair. Just work in a little hair serum as seen, twirling the ends to give your hair that shiny finished look.

And that's it!
